Workshop Stage of Ecological Marble Trace Competition Completed

Ece Mermer; mermerin üretim, işleme ve uygulama süreçlerini aktararak, mermeri malzeme olarak daha iyi tanınmasını amaçlayan güzel sanatlar ve tasarım fakülteleri, mimarlık fakültesi, mimarlık, iç mimarlık, peyzaj mimarlığı, endüstriyel tasarım, heykel bölümü öğrencilerine yönelik iki etaptan oluşan Mermerin Ekolojik izi yarışmasının workshop etabını tamamladı.

Ece Marble completed the workshop stage of the Ecological Trace of Marble
competition, which consists of two stages for students of fine arts and design faculties,
architecture faculties, architecture, interior architecture, landscape architecture,
industrial design, sculpture departments, aiming to make marble better known as a
material by conveying the production, processing and application processes of marble.
In the workshop led by
Ayça Yazıcı from Istanbul Chamber of Architects Bakırköy branch
and Ömer Yeşildal from SW Architecture, Ece Mermer informed the participants about
production processes, natural resource management in production, recycling, and types
of natural stones. Eda Yeyman and Derya Uzal from Mef University gave presentations
on ecology, the effects of the tools used for chipping stones on evolution, nature
culture interaction, world energy maps and diagrams, temple building processes in
ancient times and the use of natural stone in today's technologies, and the use of stone
as a space determinant in historical buildings. Erkan Akan Lot Studio informed the
participants about the historical process by giving information about the temporal
effects of natural stones.
Burak
Pekoğlu BINAA gave information about the spatial effects of natural stone and
gave examples about the use of natural stone in cultural buildings, religious buildings,
mixed buildings and sculpture. He evaluated the use of natural stone in façades and
evaluated the use of natural stone worldwide by presenting application and project
examples. Murat Yurdakul from Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University made a presentation on
the geological and geomorphological structure of marble. Afterwards, the participants
created their competition sheets as a result of the workshops. They will complete the
factory visit, which is the 2nd stage of the competition, on April 4.
